Juzz Summaries
Below are summaries of each Juz and the themes they cover
Juz 1 - (آلم (آ-ل-م Alīf-Lām-Mīm
The Quran’s organization structure is into 114 surahs which is further divided into ayats. This is like breaking down a book into chapters and then into sentences. For example, Surah Fatiha is the first chapter (surah) consisting of 7 sentences (referred to as ayats or verses).
So, then what exactly is a Para or Juz?
A Para or Juz has no relevance to the meaning of the Qur’an, it is a division of the Qur’an into 30 sections making it easier to complete recitation of the Holy book during the month of Ramadan. The division does not fall evenly between chapters, it’s only used to pace the reading.
Quran Juz 1 which begins at Surah Fatiha Ayah 1 and continues to Surah Baqarah Ayah 141
Juz 2 - سَيَقُولُ - Sayaqūlu
"Will (they) say"
Quran Juz 2 begins from ayah 142 of Surah Al Baqarah and continues to ayah 252 of the same chapter.
Juz 2 – Subject or Theme Matter:
In this section Allah gives reminders of the Barakah of keeping of faith. The Juz starts with establishing that the Kaaba should be the centre of all worship (before worship was conducted towards Jerusalem). This section also gives practical advice like remaining steadfast when faced with difficulties and deals with social matters concerning food and drink, wills and inheritance, treatment of orphans, rules for divorce, marriage and Hajj. In this juz the story of Prophet Dawud (David) is also mentioned and how he overcame the forces of Goliath.

“Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveller, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfil their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.” Surah Baqarah Ayat 177
Juz 3 - تِلْكَ ٱلْرُّسُلُ - Tilka ’r-Rusulu
"These are the Messengers"
Quran Juz 3 begins from ayah 253 of Surah Baqarah and continues to ayah 92 of the third chapter of Qur’an Al Imran. Contained in this Juz is Ayatul Kursi which is verse 255 of Surah Baqarah and often referred to as the “loftiest ayat of the entire Qur’an”. It is a very powerful dua and memorized by most Muslims.
Juz 3 Subject or Theme Matter:
In this section of the Quran, Allah emphasizes that there should be no compulsion to Islam. There are stories of people who questioned Islam and Allah’s message and the destruction their ignorance and arrogance has caused. Further, matters regarding Hajj, Riba, Zakat, and Jihad are discussed. There are passages on about being humble, seeking justice and righteousness, and practicing generosity. In Surah Imran, it mentions of the message of previous Prophets, for example Jesus, was not of a new religion.

She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?” [The angel] said, “Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is. Surah Imran Ayah 47
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists. Surah Imran Ayah 67
Juz 4 - لَنْ تَنَالُوْ الْبِرَّ Lan tanaloo albirra
"Never will you attain the good [reward]"
Quran Juz 4 begins from ayah 93 of Surah Imran and continues until ayah 23 of Surah An-Nisaa, the fourth chapter of the Quran.
Juz 4 – Subject or Theme Matter:
In this Juz, Allah describes Islam as the best nation for humanity as focus is on enjoining the good and prohibiting the evil. In this para Allah recount the Battle of Uhud which emphasizes what happens to disobedience.
In Surah Nisa, it lays out a new system to protect rights of humans, specifically the weak and the vulnerable. It also discusses how to treat women, orphans, marriage, inheritance laws, importance or charity, and prohibition of Riba.

“If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.” Imran Ayah 160
Juz 5 - وَٱلْمُحْصَنَاتُ Wa’l-muḥṣanātu
"And prohibited are the ones who are married"
Quran Juz 5 begins with Surah An-Nisaa ayah 24 and ends at ayah 147 of the same chapter.
Juz 5 Subject or Theme Matter:
In this section of the Quran it outlines acceptable behavior for society to follow. In aims to educate the people to stop their earlier practices of paganism. It shows the Quran’s role as the authoritative source for all Muslims. The English meaning of An-Nisaa is “women” so It deals with many issues regarding women such as inheritance, marriage laws, how to deal with children and orphans.
A major focus of this chapter is mutual dealings or good-will between people. Trades should be symmetrical, i.e. based on equity and equal sharing of the risk. Trades should not be one-sided or predatory where one individual wins big and the other loses.

O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted. Surah An-Nisaa Ayah 135.
“O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.” Surah An Nisa Ayat 59
Juz 6 - لَا يُحِبُّ ٱللهُ Lā yuḥibbu-’llāhu
"Allah does not like"
Quran Juz 6 begins with Surah An-Nisaa from ayah 148 and continues through to ayah 81 of surah maidah.
Juz 6 – Subject Matter or Theme:
Legality of specific food, controlling emotions, need for righteous deeds, cleanliness before prayer, references events about Prophet Musa (pbuh), and includes basic virtues all Muslim’s should abide by.
The story of the two children of Adam is told which teaches an important lesson about envy. Even your brothers can become envious of you and try to harm you (as also told in the story of yusuf). The lesson here is the righteous do not give up, they are steadfast and have the right attitude or behavior. We often know what is right, but some wait to be seen. Just do the right thing when no one is watching, Allah will see, and he will know.

O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do. Surah Maidah Ayah 8.
Juz 7 - وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا Wa ’Idha Samiʿū
"And when they hear"
Quran Juz 7 begins with the last part of Surah Al-Ma’idah ayah 82 and continues through to Ayah 110 of Surah Al-An’am.
Quran Para 7 – Subject and Theme Matter:
In Surah Al-An’am the message of Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) is greatly emphasized. The surah very beautifully describes Allah’s creative power, “And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says, “Be,” and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Acquainted” (Surah Anam Ayah 73). In Juz 7, it also discredits and criticizes those who commit shirk (making associations with Allah). Other topics discussed:
- Prohibits Intoxicants (alcohol), gambling, and shirk.
- To Respect the Kaaba
- Highlight some miracles of Prophet Issa’ (Jesus), may peace be upon him.
- Discusses Day of Judgement, nonbelievers, and the believers.

“And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah, so will you not reason?” Surah An’am Ayah 32
Juz 8 - وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا Wa-law annanā
"And (even) if (that) we had"
Quran Juz 8 picks up from the last part of Surah Al-Anam ayah 111 and continues through to Surah Al-A’raf ayat 87.
Juz 8 – Subject and Theme Matter:
In Quran Juz 8, it goes in detail explaining how Allah’s creations are made. The stories of the prophets are told from Prophet Adam, Noah, Hud, Saleh, Shuaib and story of Moses and Aaron (may peace and blessing be upon them all). This section tells us how all the Prophets suffered to spread the message of truth. The enemies had tried to harm them but they were defeated.
Surah A’raf also tells the story of how Iblees (Satan) became the biggest threat to humanity because of his stubbornness and refusal to listen to Allah.

Juz 9 - قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ Qāla ’l-mala’u
"Said the chiefs (eminent ones)"
Quran Juz 9 begins with surah Al-A’raf ayat 88 and continues through to surah Al-Anfal to ayat 40.
Quran Para 9 – Subject and Theme Matter:
In Quran Juz 9, specifically in Surah Anfal it reminds the Believers to submit to Allah and and keep their relations to each other in good standing. There are lessons from the story of Prophet Shu’aib, Story of Prophet Musa, and the warnings given to the Pharaoh and his people. This Juz was also revealed after the Battle of Badr so it also gives rules of war and peace between Muslims and their enemies.

So, when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy. A’raf Ayah 204
“[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another.” Surah Anfal Ayat 9
Juz 10 - وَٱعْلَمُواْ Wa-’aʿlamū
"And (you) know"
Quran Juz 10 begins with Ayat 41 of Surah Al-Anfal 41 and continue through to Ayat 92 of Surah At-Tawbah.
Juz 10 – Subject and Theme Matter:
Part of this Juz, that is Surah Tawbah, is believed to have been revealed at the time of the Battle of Tabuk. And so, it discusses the purpose of war, the rules about the distribution of the spoils of war, and to remain firm and united in combat when fighting against the enemy. In this Juz it also teaches that Allah does not change His blessings unless people first change themselves and to make peace with the enemy if they are inclined towards peace.

“Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah. That is better for you, if you only knew.” Surah Taubah Ayat 4
Juz 11 - يَعْتَذِرُونَ Yaʿtazerūn
"Only the way (for blame)"
Quran Juz 11 spans across three surah, it begins with ayat 93 of Surah At-Tawbah 93 and finishes at Ayat 5 of Surah Hud. In between is Surah Yunus.
Juz 11 – Subject and Theme Matter:
Surah Yunus is named after the Prophet Jonah. The first 70 ayats of this surah presents a dialogue between Islam and non-believers. The remaining ayats contains the stories of Noah, Moses and Jonah (may peace be upon them). The message of this passage is that those who have faith and belief in Allah will enter Jannah (hereafter). They must keep faith and live their life in accordance to the book.

Unquestionably, to Allah belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than Allah do not [actually] follow [His] “partners.” They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying. Surah Yunus Ayat 66.
Juz 12 - وَمَا مِنْ دَآبَّةٍ Wa mā min dābbatin
"And there is no creature"
Quran Juz 12 includes two surahs, it begins at Surah Hud verse 6 and finishes at Ayah 52 of Surah Yusuf.
Juz 12 – Subject and Theme Matter:
In Surah Hud, we have the stories of Prophets Noah, Salih, Hud, Lot, Shuaib and Moses. In these stories, we can see a clear pattern, Allah had sent the Prophets as messengers to help the people and the community from doing wrong. In all cases only a few had listened and they were saved, the rest rejected and later paid the consequence of their actions.
This Juz also contains the story of Prophet Yusuf which is one of many trials. In this surah it gives a complete record of Prophet Yusuf. He was envied and betrayed by his brothers who left him for dead by pushing him into a deep well. Luckily a caravan on the way to Egypt found him and saved him. He was then taken to Egypt and sold off as a slave. Later as he grew older he was accused of trying to seduce a married women, he was later imprisoned, and after many years found innocent. At the end he was reunited with his father and forgave his brothers. It is a beautiful story and the lesson is to keep faith in Allah and practice sabr (patience). Yusuf just keep plugging away and had the habit of doing his best and Allah took care of the rest.

“O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy.” Yusuf Ayat 5
Juz 13 - وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ Wa mā ubarri’u
"And I do not acquit"
Quran Juz 13 spans across three surahs, it starts from Surah Yusuf ayah 53 and continues finishes at Surah Ibrahim ayah 52. In between is Surah Ar-Ra’d.
Juz 13 – Subject and Theme Matter:
The basic theme of Surah Ar-Ra’d is about divine guidance. It helps Muslims understand that Allah is the most powerful, he created this whole universe. He is also all-seeing; he knows everything and nothing can be hidden from him. Allah sent down his Prophets as guides to communities that were losing their ways. Essentially these Prophet served to take people from darkness to light. The Surah mentions Prophet Ibrahim’s prayer when he first established the city of Makkah.

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah . Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured. Those who have believed and done righteous deeds – a good state is theirs and a good return. Surah Ra’d Ayat 28-29
This [Qur’an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded. Surah Ibrahim Ayat 52
Juz 14 - رُبَمَا Alīf-Lām-Rā’/
Rubamā "Perhaps"
Quran Juz 14 contains two surahs. It starts at Ayah 1 of Surah Al-Hijr and continues to Surah An-Nahl Ayah 128.
Juz 14 – Subject and Theme Matter:
In this section of the Quran, the focus of Surah Hijr is about divine guidance. Allah warns the people as in the story of Prophet Lut and the people of Thamud. But their response is to deny and reject this message. In surah An-Nahl it speaks to Allah’s creative power and how everything in the universe points towards Allah.

“On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.” Surah Nahl Ayat 111
“…So forgive with gracious forgiveness.” Surah Hijr Ayat 85.
Juz 15 - سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِى Subḥāna ’lladhī
"Exalted is the One (Allahu ‘Azza wa-jalla) is who "
Quran Juz 15 contains two surahs. It begins with Surah Al-Isra Ayat 1 and continues to Surah Kahf ayat 74.
Juz 15 – Subject and Theme Matter:
Surah Isra focuses on teaching important spiritual and moral disciplines. For example, it discusses the evils that come with pride and arrogance and advises Muslim’s to be humble in prayers. Other lessons are to keep good relations with one another, a productive society is one built on faith, morality, and justice.
In Surah Kahf, Allah answers the questions of the Mushrikun (or the polytheists) who opposed the Prophet. The passage challenges them in a very clear manner and questions them why they have not accepted the message of Islam. This surah tells the story of the People of the Cave and the man who become very proud over the two gardens he had.

“And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height.” Surah Isra Ayat 37
“Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life. But the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one’s] hope.” Surah Kahf Ayat 46.
Juz 16 - قَالَ أَلَمْ Qāla ’alam
"He (Al-Khidr) said: Did not"
Quran Juz 16 contains three surahs. It begins from Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 75 to Surah Ta-Ha ayat 135.
Juz 16 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Maryam main subject matter is regarding the truth of Allah’s message that were delivered by the Prophets. Several Prophets are mentioned from Zakariyya, Yahya, Isa (Jesus) and his mother Maryam, Ibrahim, Idris, Ismail and Musa. Allah had truly blessed these Prophets. They all serve the purpose to help guide Muslims and teach Tawhid.
Surah Taha addresses the story of Musa in detail. The Prophet also assures his followers in this passage that the message of the Qur’an will continue to succeed and live on.

Jesus said, “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” Surah Maryam Ayat 36
“…every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives” Surah Ta Ha Ayat 20.
Juz 17 - ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلْنَّاسِ Iqtaraba li’n-nāsi
"Has the time approached for Mankind"
Quran Juz 17 contains two surahs. This section begins at Surah Al-Anbiyaa ayat 1 and finishes at ayat 78 of Surah Al-Hajj.
Juz 17 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
The main theme of Juz 17 begins with Surah Anbiya, it primarily discusses the Prophets and Prophethood. It emphasizes the fact that all Prophets were mortal human beings. They had sacrificed and suffered at the hands of their opponents. They were all tested by Allah but never turned their backs and lived according to His command.

“Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.” Surah Anbiya Ayat 35
“And they had been guided [in worldly life] to good speech, and they were guided to the path of the Praiseworthy.” Surah Hajj Ayat 24.
Juz 18 - قَدْ أَفْلَحَ Qad ’aflaḥa
"Indeed (Certainly) successful"
Quran Juz 18 contains three surahs. This section begins from Surah Al-Muminun ayat 1 and is extended to Surah Al-Furqan Ayat 20. In between is Surah An-Nur.
Juz 18 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
We can divide the main theme or subject matter into three sections here to include the three surahs of Juz 17:
In Surah Al-Muminun it invites individuals to come, accept, and follow the Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him). It assures them that the real believers will be among the successful.
In Surah An-Nur, the lessons contained are directed towards development of a righteous society which is based on morality. It discusses social matters on proper dressing for Muslim women, punishment of adultery and fornication.
In Surah Furqan, the passage addresses objections that non-believers had towards the message of Qur’an and Islam.

“Repel evil with that which is better.” Surah Al Mu’Minun Ayat 96
“Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.” Surah Nur Ayat 30.
Juz 19 - وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ Wa-qāla ’lladhīna
"And said those who"
Quran Juz 19 contains three surahs. This section begins from ayat 21 of Surah Al-Furqan and continues through to Surah An-Naml ayat 55. It also includes Surah Ash-Shura in between.
Juz 19 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
At the time many non-believers were asking for signs to prove that Qur’an was the Holy book. Allah mentions in this Juz that there have been many clear signs in history of what happened to those who denied the message.

Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. Surah Ash Shura Ayat 227
“Perhaps it is close behind you – some of that for which you are impatient.” Surah Naml Ayat 72.
Juz 20 - أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ ’A’man Khalaqa
"Is He Who created…"
Quran Juz 20 contains three surahs. It continues with Surah An-Naml ayat 56 and ends at Surah al-Ankabut ayat 45. This Juz also contains Surah Qasas in between the two surahs.
Juz 20 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Qasas aims to try and invalidate the doubts and objections that the Prophet had experienced.
Surah al-Ankabut is a reminder to those who believed to be steadfast and strong in their faith. Here the stories of previous Prophets, may peace be upon them, and their followers are mentioned to illustrate that the path of truth is not necessarily an easy path.

“But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.” Surah Al Qasas Ayat 77.
“And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.” Surah Ankabut Ayat 6.
Juz 21 - أُتْلُ مَاأُوْحِیَ Otlu ma oohiya
"Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you"
Quran Juz 21 contains total of five surahs. It starts from ayat 46 of the 29th chapter Al Ankabut and continues through to ayat 30 of Surah Al Azhab. This Juz also covers Surah Ar-Rum, Luqman, and As-Sajdah.
Juz 21 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
The second half of Surah Ankabut addresses the same theme of the first half. It encourages Muslims to guard their prayer, keep peace with the “people of the book”, and attempts to convince through reason to join the fold of Islam.
Surah Luqman focuses on Tawhid and conveys meaninglessness of those who commit Shirk. It teaches that polytheists are blindly following their forefathers.
Surah As-Sajdah is carries with the same message that there’s no compulsion to religion, Islam is an open invitation for human beings to think and independently reflect and decide what is right. The truth is all creation has a purpose.

“And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful. And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys.” Surah Luqman Ayat 18-19
“And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet’s] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.” Surah Ahzab Ayat 33.
Juz 22 - وَمَنْ يَّقْنُتْ Wa-man yaqnut
"And whoever is obedient (devoutly obeys)"
Quran Juz 22 spans across four surahs. This Juz begins at Surah Al-Ahzab ayat 31 and finishes at Surah Ya Sin ayat 27. It also covers Surah Saba and Fatir.
Juz 22 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
In Surah Saba, it answers the objections raised by the non-believers about Tawhid, Risalah and Akhirah. It also recounts stories about Prophets David and Solomon (may peace be upon them) and the Queen of Sheba to remind people about the consequences of evils as well as righteousness.
Surah Fatir Allah warns the non-believers of the consequence of their negative attitudes towards Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.
In Surah Yaseen it tries to explain some basic tenets of Islam, specifically the belief in life after death.

That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision. Surah Saba Ayat 4
“His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, ‘Be’, and it is.” Surah Yaseen Ayat 82.
Juz 23 - وَمَآ لي Wa-Mali
"And what happened to me"
Quran Juz 23 spans across four surahs. This Juz picks up from Ayat 28 of Surah Ya Sin and continues to Az-Zumar ayat 31.
Juz 23 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
In Surah Saffat, the story of the Prophet Abraham is told. He was ready and willing to sacrifice his only son as soon as he received the message of Allah.
Surah Sad covers the basic message of all the Prophets. They were sent down to their communities to teach Tawhid. They were also mortal and went through their shares of hardships delivering the message of Allah. Surah Sad also mentions that those with wealth have it because of Allah’s will, some mistake this privilege and become prideful as they believe they are special and did it without his help. This passage tells story of David and Soloman who were powerful kings, but they were wise and obeyed Allah and did not allow their riches to corrupt.
Surah Az-Zumar discusses Islam as the truth. It tells believers to serve Allah and avoid Shirk. The Believers are encouraged and reassured they will be rewarded and to not to despair and lose faith.

“And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think.” He said, “O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.” Surah Saffat Ayat 102.
Juz 24 - فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ Fa-man ’aẓlamu
"So who is more unjust"
Quran Juz 24 spans across three surahs. It begins at Ayat 32 of Surah Az-Zumar and continues to ayat 46 of Surah Fussilat.
Juz 24 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Ghafir (40th chapter of the Quran) is about Da’wah meaning an invitation to Islam. It’s an invite to non-believers to take advantage of the mercy of Allah. This passage also tells the story of Prophet Musa and the Pharaoh.
In Surah Fussilat, Allah mentions how the pagan tribes were becoming desperate to discredit Prophet Muhammad. They began to change his words, make lies, protest his sermons, but not matter what they did they could not stop the spread of Allah’s word. As mentioned in third para, there’s no compulsion to Islam. It’s not the Prophet’s mission to force people to convert, rather he is just conveying the message. In the end, the individual must make their decision and live with the consequence.

“O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter – that is the home of [permanent] settlement.” Surah Ghafir Ayat 81
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend. Surah Fussilat Ayat 32
Juz 25 - إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ Ilayhi yuraddu
"To Him (Allahu Subhanahu wa-Ta'ala) alone is attributed"
Quran Juz 25 spans across five surahs. This section begins at Ayat 47 of Surah Fussilat 47 and continues to Surah Al-Jathiya ayat 37. The five surah included in this Juz are:

Juz 25 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Ash Shura reveals that the message of Islam has always been the same. All Prophets who came before came with the same message of Islam. Allah says he could make us united into one ummah but has given us the freedom to choose. It’s this freedom why people have diverged.
Surah Zukhruf addresses that the revelation is a mercy from Allah given to people in their language (Arabic) so they could understand. It also teaches that the material pleasures and worldly riches do not mean that a person is best in sight of Allah. True value comes from being righteous and following the truth.
Surah Ad Dukhan gives description and warns of the day judgement (qiyamah). There will be a division between the righteous and wicked, the non believers will realize what they have done and then say, “[They will say], “Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers.” How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger. (44:12-13)
Surah Jathiya subject matter is warning those who deny the divine truth. It is a lesson of arrogance and sinfulness. Their record of deeds will be presented to them.

“And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.” Surah Az Zukhruf Ayat 35
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], “Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do. Jathiya Ayat 28.
Juz 26 - حم Ḥā’ Mīm
Juz 26 spans across six surahs. This section starts at first ayat of Surah Al-Ahqaf and ends at ayat 30 of surah Adh-Dhariyat. Here are the six surah’s covered in this Juz:

Juz 26 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
In Surah Ahqaf there is a reference to the people of ‘Ad and the punishment for their sins. They rejected Tahwid and after many warnings from Allah were ruined.
Surah Muhammad discusses the struggle between truth and falsehood. The separation between these two groups will lead to one being rewarded and the other punished.
Surah Fath addresses the moral and physical victory of Islam over forces of unbelief that have tried to disrupt it.
In the next chapter, Hujurat, it lays out proper social etiquette for society. It asks of people to have respect and love for Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him). It also advises people to have respect for one another and lays out other social guidelines like making peace over fighting, refraining from gossiping or backbiting, to not mock each other by nicknames, and to resist spying.
Surah Qaf main subject matter is about resurrection and how ultimate success is to those who believe and have faith in Allah and His messengers.

Juz 27 - قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُم Qāla fa-mā khaṭbukum
He (Ibrahim) said "Then what is your mission here"
Juz 27 spans across seven surahs. It begins with Surah Adh-Dhariyat ayat 31 and finishes at Surah Al-Hadid ayat 29. Here are the seven surahs covered in this Juz:

Juz 27 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Tur addresses the mission of Prophet Muhammad. He came to warn people about the consequences of their denial of faith and indecency. It encourages those who are in doubt to produce a similar message with proofs supporting their wrong beliefs.
In Surah Najm it mentions closeness to Allah and mi’raj (night journey). It also warns the disbelievers about the errors in judgement towards the message of Qur’an.
Surah Qamar, the subject matter is about the day of judgement. It paints a picture of the scenes of that day. There are references to the stories of other prophets and consequences the people had faced. It describes the flood that washed away deniers of Prophet Noah and the people of Ad’ and the Pharaoh.
Surah Ar-Rahman is a beautiful surah, it lists the many blessings and favors that Allah has bestowed for us.
Surah Waqiah invites people to think about themselves and their daily rituals. it reminds us of the inevitable, that is every being will die and return to Allah.
Surah Hadid was revealed during a period when the tiny Islamic State was attacked by all sides by non-believers. This surah was advised Muslims to be willing to sacrifice and help the poor and needy and to understand that this life is temporary.

“Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.” Surah Najm Ayat 32

Juz 28 - قَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللهُ Qad samiʿa ’llāhu
"Indeed has Allah heard"
Quran Juz 28 spans across nine surahs. It begins with first ayat of Surah Al-Mujadila and end at Surah At-Tahrim ayat 12. Here’s the nine surahs in Juz 28.

Juz 28 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Much of this section of the Qur’an focuses on how to live a life according to Islam.
Surah Hashr deals with the banishment of the Bani-Nadhir. It encourages the believers to be steadfast in your faith of Allah.
Surah Al-Mumtahanah deals with how Muslims relationships should be with non-Muslims. In short, it says not take enemies of Allah as allies but at the same time do not consider every non-Muslim as an enemy.
Surah As Saff asks Muslims to be strong and defend the truth. The surah also mentions the story of Prophet Musa.
Surah Jumuah is about the negligence of Bani Israel in listening to Allah. They were given the message and had the book of Allah but failed to follow. This surah also tells Muslim’s to keep Friday prayer and don’t get too involved in your own life that you forget Allah.
Surah Taghabun invites all to Islam and obedience to Allah. It warns against the evil consequences of misdeed and to have good morals. It reaffirms the notion that we will be held accountable for our actions on the day of judgement.
In Surah Talaq and Tahrim it speaks about family rules, how to behave in disagreements, rules of divorce, rights of women.

Juz 29 - تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى Tabāraka ’lladhī
"Blessed is He (Allah Subhanahu wa-Ta'ala)"
Quran Juz 29 spans across eleven surahs. It begins from beginning of Surah Mulk to ayat 50 of Surah Al-Mursalat. The 11 surahs covered in this Juz are:

Juz 29 – Main Theme and Subject Matter:
Surah Mulk discusses the vastness of Allah and the beauty of the universe He created. The purpose of this surah is to serve as a reminder to us that that the whole kingdom belongs to him alone.
Surah Qalam advises people to be charitable (give zakat) and to help those less fortunate. Allah tells the story of the people of the garden who denied charity to the poor and, “So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.” Ayat 19.
In Surah Haqqah it tells the fate of people of Thamud, the Pharaoh, ‘Ad and those who ignored Noah. They were the disbelievers and choose their own fate.
Surah Ma’aril discusses two topics, the first being the ascent of the Believers. The second, is more generally about human behavior.
Surah Nuh tells the story of Prophet Nuh, may peace be upon him, and the flood that wiped away non-believers.
Surah Jinn talks about the invisible or hidden creation of Allah called Jinns. The surah discusses their views and belief on the Prophet, Islam, resurrection and the disbelievers.
Surah Muzzamil emphasizes the importance of prayers and reading Qur’an. It encourages those who believe to gain strength from the word of Allah. The greatest rewards are to those who spend their wealth on the path of Allah.
Surah Al-Muddathir main subject matter is around da’wah. Whereas Surah Al-Qiyamah focuses on spiritual resurrection of the soul.
Surah Al-Insan speaks about how someone can attain spiritual growth. It outlines the benefits and rewards that you may receive in Akhirah.
The theme of Surah Al Mursalat is to affirm the afterlife and to warn people of that their choice have consequences and to understand they are given freedom to choose.

Juz 30 - عَمَّ ‘Amma
"About what"
Quran Juz 30 spans across the last 36 surahs, many of which are very short. It begins from Surah An-Naba ayat 1 and ends with the last chapter which is Surah An-Nas.
Juz 30 – Main Subject or Theme Matter:
34 of the Surahs of Juz 30 were revealed at the earlier of time in Islam when the number of Muslims were small. These passages were sent as support to remind the believers of Allah’s promise.
